INTEG's Data Collection system is a multi-tiered system offering the user both flexibility and functionality.
The Data Buffer program runs on the JNIOR and is configured by the user via the JNIOR Registry Editor. The program can be configured to select the data to be logged, including input and output status, counter values, usage meters and analog signals (via the analog expansion modules); the frequency the data is logged; and the rate of transmission of the data to the Data Collector program. Data will be buffered on the JNIOR if the network connection or the central PC is unavailable until the connection is restored.
The Data Collector application is a Windows service that runs on a PC and receives the data being pushed to it from the Data Buffer program running on each JNIOR. The data is stored in a Microsoft SQL database for historical reasons, for use in other systems, and for reports.
The Data Buffer and Data Collector programs work together in harmony to gather real-time data from each JNIOR and send the data in a controlled and reliable fashion to a central PC with a database.
INTEG provides the user with the database table configuration so that the user can develop their own software to query the database and calculate equipment performance indicators and assemble reports for the end user.
